As we all know Goods & Services Tax (GST) is expected to roll out from 1st July 2017, Honourable Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has given approval for re-organisation of field formations of CBEC for effective implementation of GST. DGHRD, CBEC has issued an order in this regard (Link) .The Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC) is being renamed as Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIT) after legislative approval.
In a nutshell, CBIT will have 21 zones, 101 GST Commissionerates comprising 15 sub-commissionerates, 768 Divisions, 3969 Ranges. There will be 49 Audit Commissionerates and 50 Appeal Commissionerates, as reported by sources.

This association has been in touch with DGHRD, CBEC for effective utilisation of human resources of this cadre in GST regime. another appointment has been sought from Shri Balesh Kumar, ADG HRM1, DGHRD, CBEC to have discussion on this issue.
